Hi Piya,

PT> Can anyone tell me how I can save the macro configuration (shorcut

PT> (For example, I use Alt-A for aa, a with macron.)

How to preserve macros and autotext:

1. Go to "Format"->"Style..."->button "Organizer..."

2. Select "Autotext" or "Macros" in the menu on the top of the window.

3. Copy autotext or macros either from one normal.dot to another, or
from normal.dot to the document created especially for saving macros and
autotext.

The simple way to make keyboard shortcuts:

1. Copy the character to the clipboard, either from your text or the
character map.
[If you wish to assign Unicode codes to AutoText, you will have to use
"Insert"->"Symbols..." to insert the symbol into your text, then copy it.
The standard Windows program "Character Map" only shows the first 256
characters].

2. "Insert"->"AutoText"->"New..."->"OK"

3. "Tools"->"Customize..."->button "Keyboard..."

4. in "Categories:" list - select "AutoText"

5. in "AutoText" list select the character [it may show as a small, empty
square - or even as a completely different character in the list] to which
no 'current shortcut keys' are assigned.

6. position cursor in "Press new shortcut key" area

7. press desired keystroke (<Alt>-a, <Alt>-t, or whatever), button "Assign",
button "Close", button "Close"

Notes: with the AutoText method, you will get the character only in the font
you specified.

Metta,
Dimitry
