Dear sir,

1. Pali is the canonical language for theravada Buddhism. The messages you post contain controversies views to traditional theravada Buddhism, surely as a Pali scholar you are aware of it. And by posting them to a theravada buddhist list, you are stirring unrest and inviting critics, but it seems that you are not prepared for it.

2. Your messages is the first of its kind I come across, and I believe it is so for many of us. It is natural for us to raise doubts about the authenticity of the contents.

3. Your use of words such as "Pali scholars have been eating Buddhaghosas and Abhidhammmas trash commentary on this word for 1800 years now" is not professional, neither are they pleasing to the ears.

4. This list is basically formed out of a group of lay buddhists learning Pali in Singapore. Its scope is not limited to just the Pali language (see http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pali for the six main discussion topics). However, your attempt to discuss the issues you raised is just too big a mouthful for us.

Thank you,
Yong Peng.
