This was a very large posting - some members pay for their e-mail by
the kilobyte. Normally, I would recommend that such large
attachments be stored in the group files instead. However, in this
case, I would query the benefit of the files that were attached. It
seems that the plain message was mangled because of 'smart' quotes
and two Turkish letters - s cedilla and the undotted 'i'. A much
simpler solution is to use '$' for s cedilla (it's what's done in
other places for the same letter in Romanian) and '1' (the digit)
or 'I' for Turkish, with the extended SAMPA convention 'M' being
considered if need be.
If the lists are already available on the internet, and not password-
protected, the better solution would be to supply the URL, just as
Kalyan has done with the reported Indus Valley Script decipherment.
Thanks for warning about that article's size, Dr Kalyanaraman.
Some groups ban attachments, but I would be loath to go so far, for
occasionally they may offer advantages.
