I wish I could. It now looks as though I came across the term in
http://koenraadelst.bharatvani.org/reviews/hock.pdf . The most detailed
comments I could find on the issue is in
https://listhost.uchicago.edu/pipermail/ane/2002-February/000841.html by
Gordon Whittaker, but I cannot find any examples. Unless I have confounded
two subscripts, it looks as thought the 'banana language' might be
Indo-European. Perhaps some with access to linguistic journals can tell us
more. Jens Rasmussen speaks favourably of his work at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cybalist/message/17933 .
