I have theories. I've already mentioned the idea that Nostratic comes
from "DeneCaucasian", the ancestor of other megafamilies like SinoDene
(NaDene, SinoTibetan, AbkhazAdhyghe, Hattic), BuruYen (Burushaski,
Yenesseian)
and VascoCaucasic (NakhDaghestinian, Basque, HurroUrartian).

I believe that Nostratic might have retained a word class system, but
without
the prefixed markers seen in other branches of DeneCaucasian. I've suggested
that Nostratic had three genders (perhaps: human, animal, inanimate).
