What peoples and languages, in particular? And did they *exclude* any languages from the "common origin" hypothesis?

I find it interesting that the Puranas of Hinduism and commentaries by some Hindu spiritual leaders, who were not trained in western-style linguistics, declare a common origin for the peoples whose languages are often considered Nostratic. ~Mark DeFillo
