Sometimes it’s useful to hear some text spoken out loud, and that’s the claim to fame of text to speech programs. I don’t know of any text-to-speech programs for Old Icelandic, but if you want to hear what something sounds like in Modern Icelandic, try http://www.lumenvox.com/products/tts/#. You can paste your favorite short passage from one of the sagas and then listen to the automated voice reading the words aloud.
