Gunnar spurði: "Sástu nokkuð til tíðinda?"

Gunnar svarar: "Eigi mun eg gifta þér dóttur mína við þessa meðferðina. Hefir nú og í odda staðist með oss um hríð."
Gunnarr answers: “I will not give-away my daughter in marriage (gipta) to you after (við; Z.ii.9) this, the-behaviour (fem acc sg). (It) has also now stood at (the) point-of-a-sword (ie things have been on a knifes edge) between us for a while.”
