The second <því> isn’t 'therefore': <játa> 'agree to' takes
a dative objective, and <því> is that object. It’s ‘each of
the two agreed to that (því), that (að) Ljót should ...’.

Rob: Note that <sára> is gen. plur., and the adjective
<heilir> (Z2) modifies <þeir>, so that Alan’s ‘they were
healed of their wounds’ corresponds very closely to the
original.

> arranged (pp of semja) between them, Þorsteinn of Háls and
> Bolli (currently of no fixed abode)
Rob: <fresta> is transitive: the thing delayed is the object
of the verb (and appears in the dative). Here <uppsögn>
'pronouncement' is the thing (not) delayed, so it must be
the object, not the subject, and the subject must be as Alan
has it, an understood ‘I’.

> fifteen hundred of (by, times) three ells (alin) (ie 4,500
> ells all up) of eyrir (currency, eyrir, Z4?).
CV s.v. <eyrir> explains the construction:
in such phrases as 'mörk sex álna aura,' the word 'mörk'
denotes the amount, 'sex álna' the standard, and 'aura'
the payment = payment of 'a mark of six ells,'
Here we have <fimmtán hundruð> '1500' as the amount and
<þriggja alna> '3 ells' as the standard, so a payment of
1500 units of 3 ells (of wadmal), i.e., 4500 ells of wadmal
(or, I presume, the equivalent in silver or gold).
