It may be helpful to mention explicitly that <þar> and <sem>
go together: <þar sem> 'there where'.

I take <þenna hlut> to refer to <at ek ... af mér>:

This sense of <sjá eptir/um> is from Baetke.

I’m inclined to read it as 'at this time'; the 'help' sense
of the neuter noun <sinni> seems to occur only with <í>.

> og kveddi hann og frétti hver þar væri kominn.
