For Amerie's benefit: this is the <skapari> that I mentioned
in my post together with the postposed definite article,
making it 'the maker/shaper/creator'. There is still the
problem that so far as I can discover, in the extant Old
Norse corpus it is used only in a Biblical context, and it's
simply not clear -- at least to me -- whether it was used in
a more general sense as well.
