One day she goes to her cattle.
Kemur þá Stígandi til móts við hana.
Then Stigand comes to meet her.
Hún fagnar honum vel og býður að skoða í höfði honum.
She welcomes him warmly and offers to look after his head.
Hann leggur höfuðið í kné henni og sofnar skjótlega.
He lies his head on her knees and swiftly falls asleep. ("Sofna" = "fall asleep," not to be confused with "sofa" = "sleep," or even "svæfa" = "lull to sleep"
Þá skreiðist hún undan höfði honum og fer til móts við þá Ólaf og segir þeim hvar þá var komið.
Then she slunk from under his head and goes to meet Olaf and tells him where then (he) had come.
Fara þeir til Stíganda og ræða um með sér að hann skal eigi fara sem bróðir hans að hann skyldi það margt sjá er þeim yrði mein að, taka nú belg og draga á höfuð honum.
The go to Stigand and speak among themselves that he shall go as his brother that he should that much see that damage would happen to them, (the) take now a skin-bag and draw (it) on (i.e., over) his head.
Stígandi vaknaði við þetta og bregður nú engum viðbrögðum því að margir menn voru nú um einn.

Rauf var á belgnum og getur Stígandi séð öðrum megin í hlíðina.
A hole was in the skin-bag and Stigand is able to see another main strength in the mountain sides.
Þar var fagurt landsleg og grasloðið.
(It) was beautiful nature and thick with grass there.
En því var líkast sem hvirfilvindur komi að.
But that was like as if a whirlwind came on (it).
Sneri um jörðunni svo að aldregi síðan kom þar gras upp.
The earth changed completely so that grass never grew up there again.
Þar heitir nú á Brennu.
(It) is now called there Brennu (burned).
Síðan berja þeir Stíganda grjóti í hel og þar var hann dysjaður.
There they stone Stigand to death and he was buried in a cairn there. (Z. hel 3 - berja e-n grjóti í hel, to stone one to death)
Ólafur efnir vel við ambáttina og gaf henni frelsi og fór hún heim í Hjarðarholt.
Olfaf fulfilled (his agreement) well with the concubine and gave her freedom and she went home to Hjardarholt.
Hallbjörn slíkisteinsauga rak upp úr brimi litlu síðar en honum var drekkt.
Hallbjorn Skiksteinsauga drifted up out of (the) surf a little later than (i.e., after) he was drowned.
Þar heitir Knarrarnes sem hann var kasaður og gekk hann aftur mjög.
(It) is called there Knarrarnes (Ship-ness?) as he was buried and he went after much.
Sá maður er nefndur er Þorkell skalli hét.
The man is mentioned by name who was named Thorkell the bald.
Hann bjó í Þykkvaskógi á föðurleifð sinni.
He lived in Þykkvaskóg (Thick-forest) at his patrimony.
Hann var fullhugi mikill og rammur að afli.
He was a great dauntless hero and strong.
Eitt kveld var vant kýr í Þykkvaskógi.

Thorkell said that they should divide the search between themselves (i.e., split up and look separately).
Og er Þorkell var einn saman staddur þá þóttist hann sjá á holtinu fyrir sér kú.
And when Thorkell was situated alone, then he thought he saw on a stony ridge in front of him a cow.
Og er hann kemur að þá var það Slíkisteinsauga en eigi kýr.
And when he comes at them, that was Slikisteinsauga and not a cow.
Þeir runnust á allsterklega.
They begin a fight very strongly.
Fór Hallbjörn undan og er Þorkel varði minnst þá smýgur hann niður í jörðina úr höndum honum.
Hallbjorn went from under and when Thorkel defended (himself) the least then he creeps down in the earth out of his hands.
Eftir það fór Þorkell heim.
After that Thorkel went home.
Húskarlinn var heim kominn og hafði hann fundið kúna.
The house servant had come home and he had found the cow.
Ekki varð síðan mein að Hallbirni.
There was not after that (any) any harm from Hallbirn.
Þorbjörn skrjúpur var þá andaður og svo Melkorka.
Thorbjorn was weak breathed his last and so (did) Melkorka.
Þau liggja bæði í kumli í Laxárdal en Lambi son þeirra bjó þar eftir.
They both lie in a cairn in Laxardal and Lambi their son lived there after.
Hann var garpur mikill og hafði mikið fé.
He was a great dauntless man and had much wealth.
Meira var Lambi virður af mönnum en faðir hans fyrir sakir móðurfrænda sinna.
Lamb was higher esteemed than his father on account of his mother's relatives.
Vel var í frændsemi þeirra Ólafs.
They, Olaf (and others) were in a good relationship.
