I'm guessing that it came with MS Office, and you're using
MS Word. If so, this has nothing to do with the switch from
XP to 7; it's a default of MS Word. However, you can turn
it off in the AutoCorrect menu. I use OpenOffice.org, not
MS Office, but according to one apparently reliable site, in
MS Word 2010 you can reach AutoCorrect by clicking on the
File tab and selecting Options. Then in the Word Options
dialogue box click on Proofing and then on AutoCorrect. (In
MS Word 2007, click on the big Office button on the top left
of the program, then click on Options, then on Proofing, and
finally on the button for AutoCorrect.) Among other things
you should see a check box for 'Capitalize first letter of
sentences'; just uncheck that. You might want to look
through the rest of the autocorrections to see whether you
want to get rid of any of them as well.
