I'm getting more & more interested in old scandinavian cultures everyday, so I decided to start learning the related old languages.
Before really getting into it, I've got a question I can't find the answer to :
What is the difference between old norse & old icelandic ? What I've understood is that Old Norse corresponds to "South/East" scandinavian dialect, whereas old icelandic refers to a Western dialect.
Are these languages really different ? Which one should I begin with ?
I think the Edda has been written in Old Norse, right ?
