of Anakinn)
Nú varð Anakinn hirðmaðr Paðému, ok fylgir hann henni, í ollum stoðum, hvert

Iceland. It is a very dangerous land."
"Ek em dróttning," segir Paðéma, "Ok fæ ek gort þat er ek vil."
"I am queen," says Padme, "And I can do that which I wish."
Síðan bjuggu þau Anakinn ok Paðéma ferð sína, ok þau kvámu til Íslands í
Afterwards they, Anakinn and Padme, prepared for their journey, and they

Nobudal, ok sváfu þau þar á strond nætr sakir.

Anakinn asked, "Do you know where she is?"
"Ek selða hana í hendr bónda er heitir Kléggr Larsson, ok býr hann at
Vatnabo í Tattúínárdal."
"I turned her over to the hands of a farmer who is named Kegg Lars' son, and
he lives in Vatnaboer in Tattuine Dale."
Ferr Anakinn nú til Vatnabojar ok Paðéma með honum. Þar finna þau húsabo ok
Anakinn goes now to Vanaboer and Padme with him. There they find a

Anakinn spyrr, "Hvar er Smý, móðir mín, er Vattó í Mósæslastoðum selða í
hendr þér?"
Anakinn asks, "Where is Smy, my mother, who Vatto in Mosaesli Stead turned
over to your hands?"
Kléggr segir, "Ránsmenn miklir, Tuskinssynirnir, nam hana."
Kleggr says, "Many robbers, Tuskin's sons, took her."
Anakinn spyrr, "Hvárt þessar óðáðir sé hefndalausir?"
Anakinn asks, "These outrages be unavenged?"
"Fór ek til Tuskinssona, ok ætlaða ek at nema hana aftr," segir Kléggr, "En
"I went to Tuskin's sons and I intended to take her back," says Klegg, "But
kom ek heim einfotingr."

Anakin þegir. Síðan stendr hann, ok gengr út.
Anakinn was silent. Afterwards he stands up and goes out.
Óinn spyrr, "Hvert ferðú?"
Oinn asks, "Where are you going?"
"Til þess at finna móður mína," segir Anakinn.
"To this to find my mother," says Anakinn
"Hon er dauð, mágr minn," kvað Kléggr.
"She is dead, my in-law," said Klegg.
"Ekki er þat satt," said Anakinn, "Ok fæ ek sét hana í draumum mínum. Veit

Anakinn mælti, "Víst kem ek aptr skjótliga."
Anakinn spoke, "I certainly (will) come back quickly."
Um morgininn fyrir sólarroð kemr Anakinn til húss Tuskinssona. Hann sér konu
During the morning before sunrise, Anakinn comes to Tuskins' sons' house.
He sees a woman
á jorð, er bloðr mjok, ok kennir móður sinn.
on (the) ground, (there) is much blood, and recognizes his mother.
"Móðir," segir Anakinn.
"Mother," says Anakinn.
Hon spyrr, "Hvárt ek heyri rodd Anakins, sonar míns?"
She asks, "Do I hear ?? of my son, Anakinn?"
"Ek em hér, móðir. Ek skal hefna þín, ok vit munum ríða heim saman," segir
Anakinn.
"I am here, mother. I shall avenge you and we will ride home together,"
says Anakinn.
"Anakinn," segir hon, "Þú ert víst maðr drengiligr, ok er líf mitt
"Anakinn," says she, "You re certainly a brave man, and my life is
fullkomit, með því at ek kenni þik mann góðan." Andaðisk Smý í knjóm
perfect (complete) with it that I know you (for) a good man." Smy dies in
Anakinn's lap.
Anakins. Anakinn hljóp þá upp í hus ok drepr mjok marga menn. Síðan ferr
