III. Kapítuli: Frá Maul rauða Zabrakssyni ok vígi Kvæggans (Chapter 3:
Concerning Maul Zabraksson the Red and the Killing of Kvæggan)
Maul rauði hét maðr, hirðmaðr Falfaðins. Var hann sonr Zabraks, sonar
Iridóniu. Hann var atgørvimaðr mikill.

A man was named Maul the red, Palpatine's kingsman. He was a son of Zabrak,
son of Iridon. He was a man of very great physical accomplishments.

Þá Falfaðinn spurði, at þeir Jóði hofðu farit ór Nóregi, hann reiddisk, ok
kallaði til sín Maul rauða, ok sendi hann til Íslands.

Then (when) Palpatine learned that Yoda had gone out of Norway, he became
angry, and called Maul the red to him and sent him to Iceland.

"Far nú til Íslands," segir Falfaðinn, "Ok drep þú Jóða Gormóarson."

"(You) go to Iceland," says Palpatine, "And you kill Yoda son of Gorm."

En þá er Maul rauði kom til Íslands, þat var morg ár áðr en hann fann heim

And then when Maul the red came to Iceland, it was many years before when he
found (the) home of Kvaegan in

Tattúínárdal. Kvæggan var ekki heima, en þrællinn Anakinn var úti ok vann
heyverk.

Tattuine River Dale. Kvaeggan was not at home, but Anakin, the thrall, was
outside and worked at haying.

"Seg þú mér, hvar húsbóndi þinn er," segir Maul.

"(You) tell me, where your farmer is," says Maul.

"Hann er ekki heima," segir Anakinn, "En sonr hans er í afhúsi."

"He is not at home," says Anakin, "But his son is in (the) out house."

Maul gengr þá til afhússins, en fann Víga-Óbívan eigi. En Anakinn rennr
þegar til hloðu, ok eru þeir feðgar þar.

Maul goes then to the outhouse and did not find Slayer Obiwan. And Anakin
runs at once to (the) barn and they, father and son, are there.

Kvæggan sér Anakin. "Ok hví vinnr þú eigi?"

Kvaeggan sees Anakin "And why aren't you working?"

"Ek vinn eigi, en hirðmaðr Falfaðins vinnr," segir Anakinn.

"I am not working, but (the) king's, Palpatine's, man is working," says
Anakin.

Maul rauði kømr nú til hloðu, ok sér hann Kvæggan. Hann bregðr tveimr
sverðum, ok

the sword, Lightsaber, and hewed him apart in the middle.

"Faðir," segir Víga-Óbívan til Kvæggans.

"Father," says Slayer Obiwan to Kvaeggan.

"Of seint er þat," mælir Kvæggan.

"?? (too late? seinat?) it is," says Kvaeggan.

"Ekki er þat," segir Víga-Óbívan.

"It is not," says Slayer Obiwan.
