I had a couple of questions mostly where Jorunn is quoted. Also is a firth
the same as a fjord in English? I have been waffling back and forth.

Hoskuld has news of this woman and in addition that Bjorn was (the) best
farmer in all
Ströndum. Höskuldur reið heiman með tíunda mann og sækir heim Björn bónda í
Strands. Hoskuld rode from home as the tenth man and visits farmer Bjorn at
his home in
Bjarnarfjörð. Höskuldur fékk þar góðar viðtökur því að Björn kunni góð skil
á honum.
Bjorn's Fjord. Hoskuld got a good reception there because Bjorn has good
knowledge of him.
Síðan vekur Höskuldur bónorð en Björn svarar því vel og kvaðst það hyggja að
dóttir
Afterwards Hoskuld brings up a proposal and Bjorn answers it approvingly and
says he thinks that his daughter
hans mundi eigi vera betur gift en veik þó til hennar ráða.

Jórunn var föstnuð Höskuldi með miklu fé. Skyldi brullaup það vera á
Höskuldsstöðum.
Jorunn was betrothed to Hoskuld with much money. (The) wedding should be at
Hoskuld's steads.
Ríður Höskuldur nú í brott við svo búið og heim til bús síns og er nú heima
til þess er boð
Hoskuld rides away now as matters stand and home to his farm and stays now
at home until this when this wedding
þetta skyldi vera. Sækir Björn norðan til boðsins með fríðu föruneyti.
Höskuldur hefir og
should be. Bjorn proceeds from the north to the wedding with fine fellow
travelers. Hoskuld has

með Höskuldi.
Jorunn Bjorn's daughter sits thereafter at Hoskuld's Steads and accepts
management of the household with Hoskuld.
Var það brátt auðsætt á hennar högum að hún mundi vera vitur og vel að sér
og margt vel
It was soon clear by her doings that she would be wise and fine and very
knowledgable
kunnandi og heldur skapstór jafnan. Vel var um samfarar þeirra Höskulds og
ekki margt hversdaglega.
and rather proud-minded always. Their living together, Hoskuld's (and hers)
was good and not very ordinary (coarse?).
