I am a beginner...I'm familiar with some of the main sagas (Njal, Laxdaela, Eirik the Red, Greenlander's Saga) in English. I have studied Old english and Norwegian...those help somewhat.
 
Where/how can I find Icelandic penpals? Where can I hear Icelandinc music and see Icelandic movies?

There is no beginner stuf in old norse, exept from that beginner course "Old Norse for beginners".
To translate text you know to have a basic knowledge of all aspects of old norse grammar.

And we talk university level.

But chear up =)

I can recomand finding icelandic penpals, and hear some icelandic songs and see some icelandic movies :b
