e-t is an abbreviation (forkortelse) for "eitthvat" (Modern Icelandic
"eitthvað") and signifies that a noun in this position should be
in the nominative (nefnifall) case.
e-m is an abbreviation (forkortelse) for "einhverjum" and signifies
that a noun in this position should be in the dative (þágufall) case.
e-s is an abbreviation (forkortelse) for "einhvers" and signifies
that a noun in this position should be in the genitive (eignarfall) case.
e-u is an abbreviation (forkortelse) for "einhverju" and signifies
that a noun in this position should be in the accusative (þolfall) case.
