Then he recapped that, that Mörð called witnesses to that, that the verdict was given against (Flosi).

Then he recapped that, that Mörð called witnesses to the proofs and called-on (the) defence to begin his pleadings (see vörn, Z2).


Mörður Valgarðsson nefndi sér votta "nefni eg í það vætti," segði hann, "að
Mörð Valgarð’s-son called for himself witnesses ‘ I call in that testimony,’ said he, ‘that

eg banna Flosa Þórðarsyni eða þeim manni öðrum er handselda lögvörn hefir

Eyjólfur svarar: "Nú er úr vöndu (vandr) að ráða en þó skulum vér nú bíða því að eg

Flosi mælti: "Vitur maður ert þú Eyjólfur svo að fáir menn munu standa á sporði þér."
Flosi spoke: ‘You are a wise person (man), Eyjólf, such that few persons (men) will stand on your tail (will be a match for you, see under sporðr, Z1).’


Mörður Valgarðsson nefndi sér votta "nefni eg í það vætti," sagði hann, "að

menn úr dóminum en þeir Flosi vildu eigi úr nefna. Mörður lét þá dæma málið.
persons (men) out-of the court (the judgement) but they, Flosi (and Eyjólf) wanted not to call (any) out-of (it). Mörð then caused to adjudicate the case.


Og er dæmt var málið þá nefndi Eyjólfi (typo: Eyjólfr) sér votta og kallaði ónýttan dóm
And when the case was adjudicated, then Eyjólf called for himself witnesses and called made-useless (invalidated) their judgement
