I met people in California who were Odinists, Asatru, Wiccans, and pagans. As
a participant in an historical recreation group, I met such people and re-enactionists
at various Renaissance fairs and festivals—none were anti-American—many seemed
politically allied to the beatniks—not to the hippies. A number were former military.
