Dative is regular after the proposition `að', regardless of whether it
expresses movement to somewhere or position at.
> því að mér líst svo ef þeir standa úti fyrir sem vér munum þá aldrei
sótta (soekja, pp) geta."
I suspect that `þá' here is accusative masculine plural "them",
agreeing with `sótta'. Compare this with the neuter singular form of
the past participle used later where there is no explicitly stated
object: `og munu þeir eigi sótt geta'.
