Continuing our adjectival description of ON man, the negative prefix:
Ofeigr, Osvifr (long i) of Osyfr (long y - showing retained mutation),
Ospakr, Oblaudr (dh) - all with long o in the negative prefix. Meaning
something like Undoomed or Unfay, Unyielding or Unbending, Unwise or
Untame (likely Untame here), Unfraid. All attested ON personal names.
Also, the rare Otryggr, Untrue, which is somewhat surprising in that it
conflicts with our names Tryggr and Tryggvi, and one wonders what kind
of cultural environment fostered this name, if it was really used.
Also, Othyrmir along the same lines, but more on this under suffixing.
No attested feminines here, which likely means that we are missing
something. -Konrad
