Afterwards they went to (the) booth of the Mordruvellir people and asked
whether Gudmund the powerful were in (the) booth
en þeim var sagt að hann var þar. Þeir gengu þá inn í búðina. Hásæti var í
miðri búðinni
and they were told that he was there. Then they went inside then into the
booth. (The) high seat was in (the) middle of the booth
og sat þar Guðmundur ríki. Ásgrímur gekk fyrir Guðmund og kvaddi hann.
Guðmundur tók honum vel og bauð honum að sitja.
and Gudmund the powerful sat there. Asgrim went before Gudmund and greeted
him. Gudmund received him well and offered him to sit (a seat).
Ásgrímur mælti: "Eigi vil eg sitja en biðja vil eg þig liðsinnis því að þú
ert kappsamur og mikill höfðingi."
Asgrim spoke, "I do not want to sit but want to ask you for support because
you are energetic and a very powerful chieftain."
Guðmundur mælti: "Ekki skal eg í móti þér vera. En ef mér sýnist að veita
þér lið þá
Gudmund spoke, "I shall not be against you. But if it seems to me
(desireable) to assist you then
