This event happened for them three times, and this was repeated at each

third part of (the) night and they saw always the moon(s?) while (it) was

þeir þá út ór hellinum. En áðr þeir gengi á brott, brá Þórðr fæti

then (to go) out of the cave. But before they went away, Thord moved his
feet


sínum á krossmarkit, er hann hafði í hellisdyrum gert. Síðan fóru þeir

to the sign of the cross which he had made in the cave entrance. Afterwards
they went


ok kómu til kirkju, ok var þá lokit tíðum. Síðan fóru þeir heim ok

and came to church and then the service was ended. Afterwards they went
home and


kómu þar til, er þeir þóttust verit hafa um nóttina, ok fundu engan þá

came until where they thought to have been during the night and then didn't
find the cave


hellinn, ok þótti þat undr mikil. Síðan gengu þeir heim. Þórðr mundi

and it seemed a great wonder. Afterwards they went home. Thord would


flokk þenna allan, en húskarl mundi ekki orð í.

versify all this, but (the) servant wouldn't (speak) a word of it.


En ári síðar eftir þetta þá færði Þórðr byggð sína nær kirkju, en

And a year later after this then Thord moved his house near (the) church,

at jafnlengd þessa atburðar önnur misseri þá andaðist húskarl,

at the same time of this event another season then (the) servant, Thord's
fellow traveler, died,


förunautr Þórðar. En hann lifði lengi síðan, ok urðu honum engir

But he lived a long time afterwards and nothing similar happened to him
