Nú fóru þau til skála síns eftir það hið illa verk og fannst það eitt á að Freydís þóttist allvel hafa um ráðið

Nú bjuggu þeir skipið snemma um vorið, það er þeir bræður höfðu átt, með þeim öllum gæðum er þau máttu til fá og skipið bar,
Now they made ready their ship early in the Spring - that same which the brothers had owned, with all the goods they could take to the ship (implies all the ship could carry)
sigla síðan í haf og urðu vel reiðfara og komu í Eiríksfjörð skipi sínu snemma sumars.

Nú var þar Karlsefni fyrir og hafði albúið skip sitt til hafs og beið byrjar og er það mál manna að eigi mundi auðgara skip gengið hafa af Grænlandi en það er hann stýrði.
Now Karlsefni was already there and had his ship made ready to sail (again?) to sea and people said that a richer ship would not have gone away from Greenland but (one) that he Captained

Freydís fór nú til bús síns því að það hafði staðið meðan óskatt. Hún fékk mikinn feng fjár öllu föruneyti sínu því að hún vildi leyna láta ódáðum sínum. Situr hún nú í búi sínu.
Freydis went to her home which was still standing unscathed
(I like that word - O/E) She made good provision for all her fellow travellers, because she would have the donation to conceal her ill deeds. Now she sits in her house (Takes up residence and beats the Servants)
Eigi urðu allir svo haldinorðir að þegðu yfir ódáðum þeirra eða illsku aeigi kæmi upp um síðir.
Not all were so discreet (Z) that they were silent over these mis-deeds and wickedness (stuck here) - the story got out
Nú kom þetta upp um síðir fyrir Leif bróður hennar
og þótti honum þessi saga allill.
Now that (the story) came at last to Leif (her brother) who thought the story a terrible one
Þá tók Leifur þrjá menn af liði þeirra Freydísar og píndi þá til sagna um þenna atburð allan jafnsaman og var með einu móti sögn þeirra.
Then Leif took three men from the company of Freydis and tortured them about the story, and all together their story was told in one way (all agreed)
"Eigi nenni eg," segir Leifur, "að gera það að við Freydísi systur mína sem hún væri verð en spá mun eg þeim þess að þeirra afkvæmi mun lítt að þrifum verða."

Nú leið það svo fram að öngum þótti um þau vert þaðan í frá nema ills.

Nú er að segja frá því er Karlsefni býr skip sitt og sigldi í haf.
Now it is to tell of Karlsefni when he got a fair wind for his ship and sailed to sea
Honum fórst vel og kom til Noregs með heilu og höldnu og sat þar um veturinn og seldi varning sinn

og hafði þar gott yfirlæti og þau bæði hjón af hinum
göfgustum mönnum í Noregi. En um vorið eftir bjó hann skip sitt til Íslands
and had there high favour (Z) both of them (he and Mrs. K.) with the most respected people in Norway.
But during the Spring he readied his ship for Iceland
Perhaps by then he had had an excellent sufficiency of the Lutefisk.
I have had a couple of "hot-spots" there and any critique will be welcomed
