Hún svarar: "Eg vil að þú standir upp og gangir út með mér og vil eg tala
við þig."
She answers, "I want that you get up and go outside with me and I want to
speak with you."
Svo gerir hann. Þau ganga að tré er lá undir skálavegginum og settust þar
niður.
So he does. They go to a tree (a bench?) which lay beneath the side wall
and sat down there.
"Hversu líkar þér?" segir hún.
"What pleases you?" says she.
Hann svarar: "Góður þykir mér landskostur en illur þykir mér þústur sá er
vor í milli er
He answers, "(The) choice of land pleases me well but this enmity seems bad
to me that which is between our(selves)

"Það mun eg láta gangast," segir hann, "ef þér líkar þá vel."
"I will allow it to be given up," says he, "if it please you then well."
Nú skilja þau við það. Gengur hún heim en Finnbogi til hvílu sinnar. Hún
stígur upp í
Now they part at that. She goes home but Finnbogi to his bed. She gets up
into
rúmið köldum fótum og vaknar hann Þorvarður við og spyr hví að hún væri svo
köld og vot.
(the) room with cold feet and he, Thorvald, awakens at (that) and asks why
that she were so cold and wet.

And now he (could) not withstand her ranting and bade men get up as quickly
as possible and take their weapons.

and so they do and go at once to (the) huts of those brothers and went in to
those sleepers
og tóku þá og færðu í bönd og leiddu svo út hvern sem bundinn var en Freydís

and took them and placed them in shackles and lead (them) out so, each as
(he) was bound and Freydis had each killed
hvern sem út kom. Nú voru þar allir karlar drepnir en konur voru eftir og
vildi engi þær
drepa.
as (he) came outside. Now all men were killed there but the women remained
and none wanted to ill them.
Þá mælti Freydís: "Fái mér öxi í hönd."
Then Freydis spoke, "Hand me an axe."
Svo var gert. Síðan vegur hún að konum þeim fimm er þar voru og gekk af þeim
dauðum.
So (it) was done. After that she slays those five women which there were
and walked away from them, (the) dead.
