Right - thanks LN - done harm (to) - I had - at the time an issue with the phrase - because of an
expression from childhood "eat your greens they are good for you "But Gramma - I do not want to be done good to"
- so I was against thus translating it - most likely
Yes I agree - **chuckle** Skarpheðin is somewhat of an unknown quantity - I remember the description of this worthy
as given by the writer - it was unflattering - but his exploits seem to make the description of lesser value - quite unimportant really.
As for mein - I might have done better with that - if , instead of just supposing what it meant - I had looked in my CV because there is nearly the equivalent of a whole page - on mein and the attachments there-unto.
Like-wise with the Jaxlana - should be Molars - "the Battle-Hag" - must have gone into the back of Thrain's head - as he was turning away trying to get his helmet on - I would hazard a guess that it might have been little of use at that - against the might of Skarpheðin and Rimmugýgi
Thanks for this - I'll stick to CV in future

Lit. "the molars": jaxl (masc.) + accusative plural ending -a- +
suffixed definite article -na.
'langt um' "quite, totally, completely" (compare English intensifiers
like "far and away", "by a long way", "by miles"). So 'langt um
ófoert' "quite impassable" (by normal means, to any sensible person...
They obviously weren't counting on our friend Skarpheðinn!).
Yeah, that's the idea: "done harm (to)". 'mein' is a neuter noun, in
the accusative here.
