'að vanda sínum' "according to their custom", "as usual"

vandi, m. "custom, habit, wont"

Not to be confused with:

vandi, m. "difficulty, difficult task; responsibility; obligation
(esp. of relationship).

vandr, adj. "difficult, requiring care; careful; e-m er vant við e-n
"one is under an obligation to s-one".

vanda, (að). "to take pains over; etc." past part. vandaðr "elaborate,
highly finished/worked, carefully made/prepared".

vándr (modern 'vondur'). "bad, wretched; bad, wicked".
