At the risk of protracting the decision making process, I'm thinking it might be a bit superfluous us doing Hervararkviða here (The Waking of Angantýr), since -- as I mentioned -- there's already a fully parsed version online [ with a translation. Also, I'm not sure whether we'd get it finished by the end of the month.
I'm inclining towards Hjálmarskviða.
It's good and doom-laden and fierce, and pretty short (if we take the Hervarar saga version), not too complicated language, but it does introduce some distinctive features of Old Norse poetic diction. Might be a good place to start so that we can gauge how long it takes, and we should be finished by October. If there's still an appetite for poetry, some people can always do Grottasöngr or Völundarkviða either alongside Njáls saga or in the next interlude.
How's that sound? And if we're done in plenty of time, we could have something else till we're ready.
