I had some trouble with this to begin with - I could see alright the Impersonal  - use of the dream - almost it seemed that the dream was visualised as part of the person but hefir was given as Have - singular - got stuck there

 

Kolskeggur mælti: "Hvað hefir þig dreymt frændi?"

Kolskegg spoke  "What have you got (as) a dream Kinsman?"

"Það hefir mig dreymt," segir Gunnar, "að eg mundi eigi riðið hafa úr Tungu
svo fámennur ef mig hefði þá þetta dreymt."

That I have to me a dream" saya Gunnar "that I would not have ridden from Tongue with so few companions if then I had had this dream (if to me had (past) this dream then

"Seg þú okkur draum þinn," segir Kolskeggur.

"Tell us your dream" says Kolskegg (Tell you - (imp) to us two)

"Það dreymdi mig," segir Gunnar, "að eg þóttist ríða fram hjá Knafahólum.

"This dreamed (past) to me" says Gunnar "I seemed to ride out near Knafa Hills

Þar þóttist eg sjá varga mjög marga og sóttu þeir allir að mér en eg sneri
undan fram að Rangá.

There I seemed to see a great many wolves, and set they all upon me and I turned away to Rang River

Þá þótti mér þeir sækja að öllum megin en eg varðist.

Then is seemed to me they attacked all around (surrounded!) and I defended myself

Eg skaut alla þá er fremstir voru þar til er þeir gengu svo að mér að eg
mátti eigi boganum við koma.

I shot all those that were foremost intil they came at me in such a way (svo) that I could not come by/use my bow (at such close quarters)

Tók eg þá sverðið og vó eg með annarri hendi en
lagði með atgeirinum annarri hendi. Hlífði eg mér þá ekki og þóttist eg þá
eigi vita hvað mér hlífði.

Took I then my sword in one hand and my Halberd in the other - I did not protect myself (sheild?) then, and know not how I was protected

Drap eg þá marga vargana og þú með mér Kolskeggur

I killed many wolves and you Kolskegg (were) with me

en Hjört þótti mér þeir hafa undir og slíta á honum brjóstið og hafði einn
hjartað í munni sér.

but Hjort I thought they had under them and they tore open his breast and one had his heart in it's mouth

En eg þóttist verða svo reiður að eg hjó varginn í
sundur fyrir aftan bóguna og eftir það þóttu mér stökkva vargarnir.

And I seemed to become so enraged (?Berserk?) that I cut  this wolf Varg + inn -def Art) apart at the shoulder. After that  it seemed to me the wolves fled.

Nú er það ráð mitt Hjörtur frændi að þú ríðir vestur aftur í Tungu.

Now it is my advice (to you) kinsman Hjort that you ride back to Tongue

"Eigi vil eg það," segir Hjörtur. "Þótt eg viti vísan bana minn þá vil eg
þér fylgja."

"I want not that" says Hrut "though I know the way of my death, I will (even so) follow you "

Síðan riðu þeir og komu austur hjá Knafahólum.

After (this) they rode and came by Knafa Hills

Þá mælti Kolskeggur: "Sérðu frændi mörg spjót koma upp hjá hólunum og menn
með vopnum?"

There said Kolskegg "do you see (see thou) Kinsman many spears by the Hills and men with weapons?"

"Ekki kemur mér það að óvörum," segir Gunnar, "að draumur minn sannist."

"They come not to me as (ó-vorum - ó-vart = unexpected) a surprise that my dream is true

"Hvað skal nú til ráðs taka?" segir Kolskeggur. "Eg get að þú viljir eigi
renna undan þeim."

"What shall we as a plan take" says Kolskegg (what shall we do) I take it that you wish not to run from them"

"Ekki skulu þeir að því eiga að spotta," segir Gunnar, "en ríða munum vér
fram að Rangá í nesið. Þar er vígi nokkuð."

"They shall not have it (for long?) for sport" says Gunnar "but we ride to Rang River to the headland (Naze/Ness)  There is some fighting (i.e. to be done)

Ríða þeir nú fram í nesið og bjuggust þar við.

Now they ride forward (straight) to the Naze/Ness and prepare themselves for it (Prepare for battle)

Kolur mælti er þeir riðu hjá fram: "Hvort skal nú renna Gunnar?"

Kol spoke as they  rode by "Where shall you now run Gunnar?"

Kolskeggur mælti: "Seg þú svo fremi frá því er sjá dagur er allur."

Kolskeg spoke"Ask you not that (question) until the day is over"
