Nah - I was not referring to a site that dealt with pronunciation not at all.

Eysteinn I was referring to the site called Irminsull - or something like that
That was the one - it was written to me - I thought privately - I am mistaken maybe
I am simply disinclined to side-track Norse Course by discussing Spæ and Seiðr

I think the Old Norse language is what we are on here - including pronunciation -
But - a correspondent called Nefandis - or something wrote to enquire about Seiðr
And I was not wishful to be thus drawn publicly or private;ly into a discussion - on this group  about Spæ or Seiðr - with or without the R
I trust we need not have this difference again  my study of Norse Course is serious to me and I prefer not to be invited to side track from the Course - and onto other tenuously related subjects
I hope I have made myself clear on this point
Patricia
With respect

Patricia,

I presume you refer to the pronounciation guidelines:

"Seiðr (pronounced say-dh or say-th with the r being silent)"

I'm sure we agree that "silent r's" do not belong on
norse_course. "R" is, of course, anything but "silent"
in Old Norse, Old Icelandic, and Modern Icelandic ...

Best,
Eysteinn ;-)
