That's right. This version [
http://www.snerpa.is/net/snorri/landnama.htm ] of Landnámabók calls
him Kolli rather than Kolr:

Kolli hét maður, son Óttars ballar; hann nam land fyrir austan
Reyðarvatn og Stotalæk fyrir vestan Rangá og Tröllaskóg og bjó að
Sandgili.

Hans son var Egill...

It goes on to give a short account of this Egil's dealings with Gunnar.
