Wanted to first do a quick introduction. My name is Bob. I
have been using the "Old Norse for Beginners" material for some time
now. What a great, well structured course. I'm not a language
person, but have been able to sucessfully (mostly) work my way
through it, and I'm now at lesson 7. Which brings me to the
question...
In a short time, I'll finish what is currently available
at the web site, and have been looking for a 'next step'. Could
anyone offer suggestions? I have been toying with the idea of
learning Icelandic, as that is supposed to be very close to Old
Norse, but wanted to get some feedback from those who have "been
there, done that" already. I must say that in my search thus far
I've been hoping to find something (either in Old Norse or Icelandic
instruction) as user freindly as the "Old Norse for Beginners"
course, but nothing seems to come close.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give, I look forward to
corresponding with you all.
Best Regards,
Bob
PS- I see a Njal's saga thread, which is great, I'm about 1/2 way
through that now (in English) and it will be awesome to see some of
the O.N. translations of it.
