I asked around, and can confirm that there are
indeed fresh-water springs on the land of Keldur.

Here are (all?) three occurrences of the word in the
sagas - they all look pretty boggy:

Eyrb k. 51 s. 604 ...um Valbjarnarvöllu. Þar fengu þeir KELDUR
BLAUTAR mjög og lá oft ofan fyrir þeim, ...

Laxd k. 46 s. 1607 ...til skógar og rakti spor Þórólfs til KELDU
EINNAR EÐA FENS. Hann þreifar þar í ...

LjoA k. 1 s. 1718 ...að Sölmundar og lá hestur hans Í KELDU.
Sölmundur sá það og fór til og bauð ...
