Vikur seems to me to come from the Vikja - Gordon
- to move or to turn - and I have taken moves as more likely since the
story moves from one place to another
The scene is set on the first part and them moves
on - I am reminded of Romeo & Juliet - "in fair Verona where we lay our
scene" - then it moves on
Vorar struck me as a kind of dialectical version of
vor which I took to me "Our" when you say our Family you include cousins and
step-cousins even when they are a drag they are still family.
I hope I am not causing confusion here - I'm sort
of thinking sideways (or Seið-ways) today

Subject: [norse_course] Couple of
questions on Njal first chapter
I couldn't make heads or tails of "vorar" and
"víkur sögunni."
I think I see where my other mistakes are.
Thanks,
Llama Nom and Haukur for the spelling details.
I would be up for doing
maybe about 30 lines twice a week. Maybe Friday and
Tuesday? I
listed the whole chapter this time because it was mainly
the
"begats." Usually, by the time it gets to the critical time in
the Saga, I
have totally forgotten what the relevant relationship is - -
sigh.
