Thank you Jenny it works well enough to have the Character map to use occasionally and
drag 'n' drop letters - sure - ! but not for a long passage I believe in the power of Copy and Paste
every time

Hi Patricia-

I'm one of the "lurkers" who eavesdrops on this group
but I want to come foreword to thank you for your very
clear and usable explanation on how to type Old Norse
characters.  I have been trying to figure out how to
do this for a year with no success until I read your
directions. You were also the first to mention that
the "alt +" technique won't work on a lap top which is
what I'm using.

My main interests are the Sagas and Icelandic
genealogy.  Unfortunately, I'm not a linguistic whiz,
although it's nice to see what the sagas look like in
their original language.  Being able to use the Norse
characters makes it easier for me to access the
Icelandic genealogy data base I use.

If you ever need a job, you'd make a great computer
for dummies teacher.  Thanks again.

Sincerely,

Jenny Westdal
