Sam thought he was unwilling (i.e.to live there) he decided to go home amd asked them to

Hrafnkell stayed on his farm and retained his honour.

He was dead of an illness (Gordon) and his grave is in Hrafnkell's Dale

outside Adalbol. There was placed in the grave great wealth, all his armour and his good spear

895 Synir hans tóku við mannaforráði. Þórir bjó á Hrafnkels-
stöðum, en Ásbjörn á Aðalbóli. Báðir áttu þeir goðorðit
saman ok þóttu miklir menn fyrir sér.

His sons took with (? took over/shared) his authority

Thorir lived at Hrafnskel Place and Asbjorn at Adalbol

Both held the Goðorð amd thought many people (did not get this bit) - in front of him (do they mean

better people than their Father)

Ok lýkr þar frá Hrafnkeli at segja.

and ends there of Hrafnkell the telling

Sam is not an unusual person to meet unfortunately every family has one - just like him

they get themselves into fixes through not thinking things out, and then expect those wiser to dig

themselves out of the deep amd malodorous stuff that they are in.

I have thoroughtly liked this and am most grateful to you Alan for all that you have helped us to learn
