Yes normally referred to as Feudalism elsewhere in Europe, Norway
included.

I think therein lies the proper terminology.
Variant of feudality.
Tenant-farmers or vassals is clearly what "húskarl-ar" stands for also.
The Holder (Höldur or gildur búandi) sends for them in times of
conflict.
