I was trying to recall the 'láta dæluna ganga' phrase. I first came across it in Piltur og Stúlka eftir Jón ThoroddsenÆ

 

‘Sigríður þagði og gat þó ekki gjört að sér að brosa; en Gróa lét dæluna ganga.’

You know who has a cap on. Cape is "Höfði" from which we have "Höfuð"

the main or the haed it self.
