Hi I have come up against that odd little letter am o with a squiggle - cannot do that one so I'll do an ö
Right that's that settled
In the Glossary of the New Introduction to Old Norse it gives  for vextr see vöxtr went there and found
vöxtr ( gen - vaxtar)dat.sing vexti - in size   at vexti in shape

so might it be that since drengiligr - certainly given here as Valiant the phrase you give

drengiligr í vexti.  signifies some one of Noble or Valiant proportions or of appearance, it could be saying he was of such noble appearance that he looked like he was made to commemorate something

I trust this helps

Subject: [norse_course] Need help: Eireks saga víðförla - Chapter 1

I am working through the Haukur's glossed version of Eireks saga
víðförla and I got to this line:

Hann var rammr at afli, frækn ok framr at öllu, drengiligr í vexti.

But the glosses stop at öllu. I believe drengligr is "brave" but I
cannot find "vextr" or "vext" in Zoëga's dictionary. Does anyone know
what this means?

Thanks for the help! This list sure is valuable.
