Those of you familiar with Benjamin Thorpe's translation of the Poetic
Edda may have noticed a poem there called "Gunnar's Melody" of which
Thorpe says:

"[T]he one entitled Gunnar’s Melody is no doubt a comparatively late
composition; yet being written in the true ancient spirit of the North is
well deserving of a place among the Eddaic poems."

While Thorpe's English translation has been available on the Web for some
time the text in the original language has been more difficult to obtain.
Using the text from the 1818 edition Eysteinn Björnsson and myself have
produced a version in normalized Old Norse spelling.

As far as I know this is the first time the poem is published since 1818.
