Sæl Grace,

I´ll have a go, although I´m just typing this at the yahoo groups
site, so I can´t get fancy colours (sorry)...

þeir brœðr
"those brothers", or "the brothers"
(Same word as 'þeir' "they", but here used as demonstrative/article.)

Þeir settu fyrst virki þat er heitir Skarðaborg
"they first established/founded that stronghold which is called
Scarborough [Skarði's stronghold/town/borough]". I wonder
if "first" here is just saying that they were the original founders,
the first people to build defensive works there. That was my first
thought. Or if it means, as you´ve interpreted, that building the
fort was the first thing they did (in Britain, perhaps), before
going off to Scotland. Maybe either?

mikit lið
I think you´ve got the idea. Literally "a big army", "a large force
of men".

í þeim her var engi slíkr sem Kormákr
"in that army/force there was no one like K." -- in other words, he
was without peer; there was no one to compare with K. for strength
and courage. ('her', note short vowel, is the dat.sg.
of 'herr' "army", rather than 'hér' "here").

The rest all looks good to me.

Llama Nom
