Here is my translation. I have included comments on others’ translations in separate posts.

Kveðja

Síðan lætr hann í haf ok kømr í Nóreg

Afterwards he puts to sea and comes into Norway

 

ok lætr flytja upp varnað sinn,

and causes to bring up (unload) his goods,

 

ok þurfti nú meira við þat en fyrr, er hann var í Nóregi.

And (it) needed now more with (for) that than before, when he was in Norway (last).

 

Hann ferr nú síðan á fund Haralds konungs

He goes now afterwards for a meeting with King Harald

 

Ok vill efna þat er hann hét honum,

And wants to fulfil that which he promised to him,

 

áðr hann fór til Danmerkr, ok kveðr konung vel.

Before he travelled to Denmark, and greets (the) king well.

 

Haraldr konungr tók vel kveðju hans,

King Harald took (accepted) his greeting well,

 

'ok sezk niðr', segir hann, 'ok drekk hér með oss!'

‘and set yourself down.’ He says, ‘ and drink here with us!’

 

Ok svá gørir hann.

And so he does.

 

Afterwards he puts to sea and comes to Norway and has his goods brought ashore, and on this occasion it needed more effort to do that than the last time he was in Norway. Now, after that, he goes to meet King Harald, intending to do what he promised him before he travelled to Denmark, and greets the king well. King Harald accepted his greeting, saying ‘and sit yourself down and drink here with us!’ And Auðan does so.
