Jamie and I haven't finished our translation yet, but I wanted to
mention that I discovered this idiom in Zoëga: e-m vex e-t í augu,
'one has scruples about'
So I make this sentence, "For this no success happens for you young
people, because you scruple about everything". Þorbjörn thinks Sam
shouldn't worry about how hard it will be to take on Hrafnkel at
law, he you go ahead and do it.
I'm starting to suspect that Þorbjörn isn't the good guy in this
saga after all. Sure, Hrafnkel is still a bad guy (killed an unarmed
kid for little more than stupidity), but it looks like Þorbjörn is
trying to start a feud and get his whole family killed.
