1. Kudos on the ascii graphics.

2. I gave you several possibilites for translation;
interestingly "tak upp hamarinn þann" was not among them.

3. There is no exclamation mark in runic writing.

4. The first letter of 'þann' is thorn and it has
a rune of its own.

5. The earliest runic inscriptions were often written
from right to left. But then they usually, I think,
face the other way (I'd have to look this up).
Hieroglyphs work like that, at least :)

6. The Elder Futhark is not historically appropriate
for writing Old Norse.

7. Double consonants are usually represented by a single
rune in old inscriptions.
