I was wondering if it is common in old norse prose to see alliteration and repetition of words.  I was wondering this because i have been reading a lot of Aelfric and other pieces from the same time in OE and this seems to be a trend in his work and works of writers from the period ( it is actually the most beautiful prose i have ever read).  His writings are from around the period when the vikings are nearing the end of their raids on England (something like 850 to 970, for all the pieces not just Aelfric, if my limited memory serves me correctly but it might actually be the next century) which, if i recall correctly, is the time when a lot of the main old norse scripts were written.  I was just curious.
