Dan - you're mixing your genders here. The form 'heilir' is masculine whereas
'öll' is neuter.
 

Oops! I'm still having trouble with these greetings. Neuter plural (nom) should be "Heil öll"? Could you give me a quick guide to common greetings? I know the simplest version is "Heill X (masc)", but I've also come across "ver þú heill" or "vertu heill", "kom heill" and "fara heill" - are there differences in how these should be used? I've seen a lot of people using "heilsa", but according to Zoega, that's the verb "to greet", not an actual greeting, right?

Also, is there something else commonly used for signing off? Most of the time, I've seen the same greetings being used for this.
