Hi

New member... I've been a member for almost a year,
having studied the original courses and comments. I
just didn't re-subscribe yet since the change from
e-groups (? if i remember correctly) to yahoo. That
was my _first_ mail.

As indicated in the heading of the mail (Germanic
religious TERMS), the title of the book
discussed(Language and History of the Early Germanic
World) and the phrasing i used in my mail ("And
though i can imagine that the book provokes reactions
on *linguistic* and or *historical bases*...) , i
think this is highly relevant, yes, especially because
i was hoping for historical and linguistic remarks and
comments and critiques by people who actually did read
this book of which i thought it was quite basic for a
better understanding of the Early Germanic
world(including "Old Norse")

Best regards,

Frank Verhoft

Hi Frank,

Since you are new to the list, you may not realize
that
this is a _language_ list, not a list for the
discussion
of theories of religion.

The rest of the participants in this discussion
should,
I hope, already be aware of the focus of this list.

Does this book, or the theories expounded in it, have
anything
to do with the study of the Old Norse language?

If not, please take this discussion to a more
appropriate
mailing list.

Thank you.
