I came across the term Veratýr in Snorri's Edda as a name for Odin. The Jean
I. Young translation indicates this means "God of Men". I couldn't seem to
make any sense of that on the basis of Zoega. I get a meaning something
similar to "God of Being", or "God of Persistence". What do others make of
this?
